Qunu [ˈk͡ǃuːnu] is a small rural village in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. It is 32 km (20 mi) south-west of Mthatha on the road between Butterworth and Mthatha.
Nelson Mandela spent his childhood here and had a retirement home there. On 15 December 2013, Mandela was buried in Qunu after a state funeral.[1]
